Some things just never change in Bungie's Destiny 2, like bugged weapons popping up occasionally. This time around, players have discovered even more glitches for a weapon with a previously infamous history.

The Telesto is an exotic fusion rifle that has been around since the original game. After being brought over to Destiny 2, the weapon has caused issues before when it could give players free ammo for minimal effort. But despite being fixed afterwards, new Telesto bugs have managed to emerge once again. Currently, there are four different glitches known and usable by players with varying implications and effects.

First off, the Telesto has a bugged interaction when used on a friendly or self-made titan bubble. Normally Telesto shots explode when fired at an enemy titan bubble. However, firing Telesto rounds at a friendly bubble will absorb the shot, dropping it into the middle of the ground inside. This can be extremely useful in PvP during the Season of Dawn for baiting. Lure an enemy into the titan bubble, shoot a Telesto from the outside, and watch as they get blown to kingdom come.

On another note, Telesto shots provide different buffs or benefits they shouldn't normally give when hit. If a throwing hammer or grenade explodes on a Telesto shot, the player will receive three stacks of the Roaring Flames buff, turning future throwing hammers into a one-hit kill weapon. Furthermore, if middle-tree Sentinels grenade a Telesto shot, they will restore health. Finally, middle-tree Gunslingers can get their Playing with Fire buff by using their Knife Trick ability on a Telesto shot, allowing them to stack and keep the boost going indefinitely.

As it stands, the Telesto is a weapon that should be looked at with caution, albeit not game-breaking, until these glitches are patched out. Adding to its previous history, the reason why this weapon is riddled with bugs comes not from the Telesto itself, but how other weapons and abilities interact with the shots. Yet more importantly, these glitches can inspire innovation for future weapons since the idea of synergistic weapons and skills can lead to unique gameplay if explored.

In the end, it seems that no matter what changes Bungie makes to the Telesto, new glitches and bugs will always be discovered eventually. For this reason, it should come as no surprise if the exotic fusion rifle is finally retired in future games. But for now, Destiny 2 players can continue playing around with the Telesto, which has earned its place in history.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
