The Gjallarhorn is arguably the most iconic weapon in Destiny and Destiny 2. Even many gamers who don’t care for the franchise are at least aware of the weapon’s reputation. And while the Gjallarhorn may or may not be overpowered, Bungie is giving the late-game rocket launcher a different kind of Nerf.

Nerf will release an officially licensed limited-edition replica of Destiny 2’s Gjallarhorn, which fans can purchase from the official Bungie store. And while the Nerf Gjallarhorn becomes available after July 21, Destiny 2 players can win the chance to reserve their foam firing collectible before the general public has its opportunity.

Destiny 2 players can get early access by acquiring the Gjallarhorn rocket launcher in-game from the Destiny 2 30th Anniversary Content pack. Players who fulfill this requirement can reserve copies of the Nerf Gjallarhorn between July 7 and July 21. The Nerf gun will then be available to everyone while supplies last.

The Gjallarhorn Nerf still isn’t cheap, however, retailing for $185 from Bungie’s online store. That’s a pretty hefty price tag for a licensed toy. Destiny 2’s most committed fans will have to decide for themselves if it’s worth the cost. Fans should also note that shipping may not be available in every region or country. The Bungie Store notes that delivery may be restricted outside the US, UK, EU, Canada, and Australia. Thus, accessing this piece of exclusive merchandise may be difficult for Destiny 2 fans in Asia, Africa, or Latin America.

The high price tag may have something to do with the toy’s size and complexity. The Nerf Gjallarhorn is a one-to-one scale recreation measuring over 4 feet (1.2 meters) in length. The molded plastic is highly detailed and recreates the shape and textures of Gjallarhorn’s 3D model. The Bungie-inspired Nerf blaster features Nerf’s new “Mega dart shells,” which let users fire three darts at once. It also comes with a battery-powered illuminated scope, two spare shells, and a total of nine Nerf Mega darts. The exclusive Nerf gun arrives packaged in a limited-edition box emblazoned with licensed Destiny artwork.

The Nerf Gjallarhorn blaster is part of Mattel’s Nerf LMTD line. Launching its first product in 2020, Nerf LMTD is a family of officially licensed blasters based on iconic weapons from movies, TV, and video games. Examples include Fortnite’s Epic/Legendary Assault Rifle and the Amban Phase-Pulse Blaster from The Mandalorian. Other planned items are Boba Fett’s EE-3 Blaster, Halo’s Needler, and Alien’s M41-A Pulse Blaster.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
