The new Legendary Void Fusion Rifle, Null Composure, serves as the ritual weapon for players to chase during Season of the Splicer. Once they have completed Banshee’s quest to earn the weapon, Destiny 2 players can unlock three special ornaments to change the Fusion Rifle’s appearance that are themed around Vanguard Strikes, Crucible, and Gambit.

Null Composure is a good Fusion Rifle that charges up quickly and comes with the Reservoir Burst perk, which causes enemies killed by the first shot in the magazine to explode. Season of the Splicer has added lots of other new weapons to the loot pool in Destiny 2, including some new Iron Banner weapons.

The core activities in Destiny 2 – Vanguard Strikes, Crucible, and Gambit – each have special quests that reward players with unique ornaments to customize the appearance of Null Composure. Throughout Season of the Splicer, there may be some seasonal challenges that require players to unlock the ornaments so getting them early will help players out later on.

Once players have completed the “A Sacred Fusion” quest and collected Null Composure from Banshee, Commander Zavala, Lord Shaxx, and the Drifter will all have quests ready for Destiny 2 players to pick up. Once completed, players can equip the ornaments by opening Null Composure’s appearance menu by inspecting it from the character screen.

Coordinated Offensive Ornament - Vanguard Strikes

Players need to speak to Commander Zavala in the Tower and pick up the “Vanguard Vestments” quest to get started. Players then need to complete these objectives:

  • Defeat combatants in Strikes with Fusion Rifles and Solar weapons
  • Complete three Nightfall Strikes

To complete these objectives quickly, players should run at least three Nightfall Strikes while using appropriate weapons. Nightfall difficulty is irrelevant, although Hero difficulty offers a chance at the new Nightfall weapons including the Hung Jury Scout Rifle at a lower power level.

While running these Strikes, players should be using a Fusion Rifle in their energy weapon slot. Null Composure is a great choice, but a Solar Fusion Rifle such as the Cartesian Coordinate or the Exotic weapon Merciless. Any Solar heavy weapon, such as the Lament Exotic Sword or Code Duello Rocket Launcher from last season, is also a must-have to help Destiny 2 players get the necessary kills in as few Strikes as possible.

Once those objectives have been completed, players need to return to Zavala to collect the Coordinated Offensive ornament.

Inferno Heraldry Ornament - Crucible

Lord Shaxx will offer Destiny 2 players the “The Red Hat” quest to get the Crucible-themed ornament. Players need to complete these objectives to unlock it:

  • Defeat Guardians with Solar weapons or Fusion Rifles
  • Earn three Valor ranks

The Guardian kills objective is percentage-based and players can get bonus progress by getting streaks in Crucible matches. As with the Strikes objectives, using a Solar Fusion Rifle and heavy weapon will be particularly useful for getting this objective done as quickly as possible. Alternatively, players that want to go all in on this objective could pair the Exotic kinetic Fusion Rifle Bastion, a Solar primary weapon, such as the Igneous Hammer Hand Cannon or Stars In Shadow Pulse Rifle.

As for the Valor ranks, players simply need to play lots of Crucible matches until they earn enough ranks. Any Destiny 2 players that are not fans of PvP could wait until a bonus Valor event comes around which will help them get their rank up quickly. Iron Banner events often come with bonus Valor. Return to Lord Shaxx to collect the Inferno Heraldry ornament once those objectives have been completed.

Smith’s Touchmark Ornament – Gambit

Lastly, players must visit the Drifter in the Tower Annex to collect the “Primeval Patina” quest to get the Gambit ornament. Completing these objectives will reward players with the Smith’s Touchmark ornament:

  • Earn Drifter’s Winnings
  • Complete seven matches

Drifter’s Winnings is another percentage-based objective that can be progressed in many ways. Destiny 2 players need to get Fusion Rifle kills, Solar weapon kills, and Fusion Rifle multikills in Gambit, with Guardian defeats and Gambit match win streaks awarding bonus progress for Drifter’s Winnings. Players should note that this objective is bugged and progresses much slower than intended.

Completing seven Gambit matches will not take players too long to complete and they have until August to get this objective done. Speak to Drifter once these objectives have been complete to collect the Smith’s Touchmark ornament.
