Despite the fact that Destiny 2 is undoubtedly one of the most highly anticipated games for 2017, there's a chance that some gaming fans might not know exactly what kind of title it is and all that it contains. So, for those who are in the dark about the second entry in the science fiction shooter franchise, the publisher Activision and developer Bungie decided to partner up to put out a fresh trailer that briefly explains to newbies what the sequel is.

As seen in the trailer below titled "What is Destiny 2?", the game is described as an "action shooter with an epic story" that will let fans play their own way by either going solo or bringing friends along for the ride, all while making new ones in the process. The footage then makes sure to list the title's game types in a quick succession by mentioning its three-player co-op strikes, a six-player raid, and the Crucible's 4v4 competitive multiplayer.

The Destiny 2 trailer above also acknowledges a player's ability to choose from three separate classes of Warlocks, Titans, and Hunters, all while noting that fans can customize the class' gear, guns, and Guardians. What's more is that the footage even alludes to the four explorable worlds in the game, but doesn't go so far as to mention them by name since there's only a limited amount of time available in the video to boil Destiny 2 down to its essentials.

Of course, while the latest trailer for Destiny 2 does a decent enough job of providing what is essentially a succinct set of bullet points detailing what the game is for newcomers, diehard devotees can easily argue that the sequel is much more than what's being described in the footage. For those who want an expanded explanation of the franchise – albeit one that still doesn't include every single aspect of the series' history – newbies would do well to check out this video telling the complete story of the game prior to Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 is slated to release on September 6, 2017 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and it launches on October 24, 2017 for PC.
