Destiny 2's PvPvE Gambit mode is set to receive a number of quality-of-life changes when the Gambit-themed Season of the Drifter begins on March 5`dfdf In this week's developer blog, Bungie previewed some of the changes that players can expect, which the developer says came directly from player feedback.

The first change will affect the third round of Gambit should a match reach that final round. Currently, the third round is basically a repeat of the previous two rounds, but starting in Season 6, the third round will be "a Primeval rush sudden death." Bungie is hoping this speeds up matches and switches things up for that final round.

Next, the spawn points for invaders are being reworked, with additional points being added and new logic determining where an invader appears. The intention of the change is to make it so invaders are not spawning right next to or in direct line of sight of other players. This should mix up invasions for a bit considering that, months after the mode released with the Forsaken expansion, many players have memorized the invader spawn points and can almost perfectly predict or influence where they will spawn.

Other changes coming to Gambit include a punishment for players who are AFK and go idle during a match. Those players who may be joining Gambit matches for experience and rewards but not actually playing will not receive rewards or Infamy points.

Getting the Dredgen title in Destiny 2 may also be a little easier with a change to the "Light vs. Light" Triumph to make it possible to progress it by killing any Guardian with a super, not just invaders. Lastly, the type of enemy that spawns in as a blocker and their health pools are being adjusted for small (Taken Goblin), medium (Taken Captain), and large levels (Taken Knight) of blockers.

Again, these changes take effect when Season 6 begins on March 5.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
