Destiny 2: Forsaken is bringing a ton of new activities for players to take on, including the new PvPvE game mode Gambit. Players who attended E3 or GuardianCon have had some hands-on experience with this exciting mode, and today Bungie detailed how rewards and progression will work with  the new Gambit game mode.

It seems that Gambit will work similar to Valor Rank for Crucible in the sense that Destiny 2 players will earn points as they play the game mode and work toward Legend rank in Infamy – the new ranking system for Gambit. The Guardian, Brave, Heroic, Fabled, and Mythic ranks have been broken up into tiers that players can work through in the short-term as they progress toward Legend.

As with Crucible, players will be able to gain win streaks, stacking up to five, to earn points faster. Points can also be earned by completing daily Gambit bounties given by The Drifter. According to Bungie, the ultimate goal is to give players a fun, rewarding, and replayable experience regardless of skill level. For many players, Gambit will be the ultimate testing grounds for the new TTK changes coming with Forsaken, as they can test changes against enemies as well as other players.

Progressing through the Infamy ranks will net players new rewards from The Drifter. He will also offer a special weekly bounty for players who have reached Level 50 that will net players a piece of powerful gear and a slew of Infamy points. Players who are dedicated to rounding out their collections will want to make sure they grind out their Infamy ranks to get the exclusive Gambit rewards.

Gambit seems like it is combining the best elements of both PvE and PvP into one thrilling experience for all audiences in Destiny 2. Players can play to their strengths and utilize their best gear in the hopes that their team will overcome the Primeval and emerge victorious. Hopefully, Gambit can hold players’ attention long enough to earn these interesting rewards.
