Throughout its rocky history, Destiny has been one of the most heavily scrutinized franchises out there. With an extraordinarily dedicated fanbase, each frame of its promotional material is gone over with a fine-toothed comb and scoured for hints. In the reveal for Forsaken, Destiny's new expansion, those dedicated fans have picked out a typo from the description of an upcoming item.

The typo belongs to a new Warlock bond - the Reverie Dawn Bond. The legendary bond applies two effects to the wearer. First: While in the Dreaming City (Destiny 2's newest raid and endgame area), you deal more damage to all targets. Second: While in the Dreaming City, you take more damage "form" all sources.

The "form," of course, is the mistake here. This isn't the first time that Bungie has made a typo in their work - those interested can read about some of them in this Reddit thread, from a couple of years ago. That said, Bungie has an excuse this time around. It was made abundantly clear in the beginning of the stream that everything in the current build is a work in progress, and things like numbers - and presumably item descriptions - are all pending confirmation.

Apart from the typo, this Warlock bond isn't too special. Due to the fact that it's tied to the Dreaming City, we can assume that it's going to be part of a raid or endgame set - something that players will most likely earn within the raid, to help in later runs. These raid-specific perks were common back during King's Fall - the raid that endeared the community during The Taken King era of Destiny 1.

Forsaken is an expansion that the community seems cautiously optimistic about. Many consider Destiny 2 to have been an exceptionally rough patch due to its perceived lack of depth compared to the original title, and Bungie made a point in its latest stream to reinforce the return of complex gameplay and rewarding endgame in the new expansion. Barring any more typos, Forsaken seems like it could become something truly special.

Destiny 2: Forsaken will launch this September 4th for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
