One of the biggest questions on the minds of the Destiny 2 community is if certain popular exotic weapons from the past will be returning in Forsaken. During a recent interview with Game Informer, the staff got the opportunity to ask whether classic weapons like The Last Word and Bad Juju would be returning, and Bungie didn't exactly say no.

Bungie has been pretty forthcoming with Forsaken, and more information on the Destiny 2 expansion continues to pour in daily. There are still some questions left unanswered, however, and the developer does want to keep some surprises for launch. That hasn't stopped the community from attempting to pry whatever they can out of the Forsaken team.

Game Informer sat down with game director Steve Cotton and Forsaken project lead Scott Taylor for a series of questions, which at one point moved to the topic of exotics weapons. They were asked if The Last Word would be back in the hands of Guardians in the expansion, noting the western revenge story theming. They responded by saying Bungie isn't announcing any new exotics right now. However, Cotton did say they "might very soon". This was followed up by a question about Bad Juju, to which Cotton gave the same answer, adding, "very, very, very soon."

While these two weren't willing to divulge specifics on these two weapons, they did hint that older exotics will be addressed in the weeks leading up to the expansion's release in early September. If older exotics are revealed to be coming back, it will likely be through a trailer much like the one that dropped a couple days ago that showed off a handful of all-new weapons and gear.

There is a lot to look forward to in Forsaken, far beyond the potential to mess around with new versions of classic weapons. There will be loads of new content, in addition to dozens of changes to the game. One of the biggest changes is the planned overhaul to the infusion system. Bungie has announced it is throwing the old system out the window.

Good news for those frustrated by the current restrictions, such as scout rifles only being able to be infused into other scout rifles, as players will now be able to infuse any weapons that share the same slot. This should make it much easier to gain Power, as well as build up a strong arsenal.
