Although Destiny 2 is trying to keep the secrets of its Forsaken expansion a mystery for as long as possible, promotional materials are also hyping up the upcoming action. Obviously, cinematics and trailers are going to show scenes that Bungie may want to save for later, but even things fans might not expect to reveal details end up doing so.

Destiny 2: Forsaken’s pre-order package at Gamestop includes a pack of playing cards with the expansion’s main villains, The Barons, on them. However, since there are only 8 Barons, the card maker needed to fill out the rest of the cards with other notable characters, like Uldren, Cayde-6, and Petra Venj. And interestingly, the cards also include Mara Sov, the Awoken Queen.

Now this is by no means a confirmation that Forsaken will feature an appearance by the Queen, but her inclusion does raise some eyebrows. Every other character on the cards features prominently in the Destiny 2: Forsaken story, so it’s entirely possible that the expansion will finally reveal Mara Sov is alive. Even the card’s description says that she is “presumed dead,” and that “some remain skeptical of the finality of her passing.”

Bungie has tried to remain mum about Mara Sov’s fate, but the studio has always left the door open for her return. And with Uldren Sov playing a huge role in Forsaken, it only makes sense for her to be referenced, if not appear. Some even believe that The Queen is the driving force behind Uldren’s freeing of the Prison of Elders inhabitants and killing of Cayde-6 – either her directly, or Uldren’s belief that completing these tasks will reunite him with his sister.

Those that looked at the recent Destiny 2 leak know that the Forsaken expansion will use the Queen in some fashion. And although the leak has yet to be officially confirmed, a lot of the details have started to gain support through Bungie reveals. For example, the leak claimed that the Forsaken raid is called Last Wish and then Bungie confirmed its name and release date this week.
