E3 2018 is kicking off and both fans and the media are rushing through the doors to be the first to play the Destiny 2 Forsaken expansion's new game mode, Gambit. To celebrate the event or maybe just capitalize on all of the E3 buzz, Bungie has released a new Gambit gameplay trailer. It's going to be a long wait until Forsaken launches in September.

In Destiny 2's new trailer, the cinematic introduction for Gambit mode that was revealed this past week is once again shown. This is presumably the man that runs the Gambit mode, who some suspect is related to the Daito corporation due to his jade token. The token is assumed to represent the random enemy that players will face off against in this round of Gambit.

After the introduction, the gameplay immediately kicks into motion. The action jumps between several pre-recorded matches played on different maps and against different enemy types. The diversity of content is clear, and that's not even considering how players themselves will optimize their class and kit for each unique encounter.

Gambit is Destiny 2's unique new game mode that brings together PvPvE action. Two separate teams will face off against waves of AI-controlled enemies, earning Motes with each enemy killed. Once 75 Motes have been collected, a boss will spawn. The first team to defeat their own boss wins the match.

The PvP side of the equation comes in to play each time a team collects a multiple of 25-Motes. Teams will be able to send an Invader over to the other team's arena, buffed and looking to disrupt. They can kill as many enemy players as they're able and when they die they come back to their own arena.

Gambit is just one of many new features being added in Destiny 2's Forsaken expansion but is definitely the most exciting in terms of new gameplay. Expect more information on Gambit and Forsaken in the months to come.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The Forsaken expansion launches September 4 across all supported platforms.
