Destiny 2’s fall expansion is called Forsaken, and is confirmed to focus on the Reef, a location fans haven’t seen since Destiny 1. Developer Bungie is planning a reveal livestream tomorrow morning to pull back the curtain on some of the details about Forsaken, the week ahead of E3.

The announcement for Destiny 2’s fall expansion and second year of content came via a very short teaser trailer tweeted out by Bungie and the official Destiny Twitter account.

The brief teaser shows Cayde-6 and a Guardian transmatting into the Reef, which is all that can really be confirmed about the coming expansion at this point. There were rumors last week that the DLC would include a new enemy faction and enemy type, but that also pegged the title of the DLC as the Summoning of the Nine so it’s unknown how accurate any of that supposed leak may be. For what it's worth, Bungie did nix the Summoning of the Nine name, suggesting that the content of the rumor is false as well.

The Reef was the main location and social space in Destiny 1’s second expansion of Year 1, House of Wolves. Bungie continued to build onto the Reef during the game’s lifespan, adding missions, quests, and the Challenge of the Elders activity in future expansions. Mara Sov, the Queen of the Reef (who at one point, Bungie said is still alive despite her apparent demise at the hands of Oryx in the introduction to The Taken King) could return in this expansion, as well as her brother Prince Uldren, who scores a buried reference in the latest Warmind expansion.

Destiny fans should find out a lot more about what Forsaken will hold for Destiny 2 tomorrow during the reveal stream at 9 a.m. PDT. The expansion is expected to launch sometime in September, although a firm release date has yet to be announced.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
