Destiny 2’s Forsaken expansion is bringing a lot of new content when it launches this September, including some new activities for players to take on. One new activity almost runs in the background of all other Destiny 2 activities, and that is the new bounty system. Certain bounties will even allow players to take on a harder, redesigned lost sector featuring new bosses.

Bounties will be available through the new vendor for The Tangled Shore: The Spider. The Spider offers four different tiers of bounties, each aimed at a different power level. The first three tiers will take place in other activities, while the fourth will give players access to Outlaw Lost Sectors on each planet. These lost sectors are redesigned to give players a more challenging experience, almost like a mini-strike.

Destiny 2 Forsaken Adds Bounties, Harder Lost Sectors With New Bosses

The bounties are for escapees from the Prison of Elders, featuring enemies of all different races in the game. One Outlaw Lost Sector in the EDZ features a Fallen Captain who is protected by shields that the player must destroy using bombs. One of Titan’s Outlaw Lost Sectors features a Hive Wizard who can summon a powerful Ogre and Thralls to overwhelm players who are unprepared. Players will want to bring their best gear to take on these new Sectors.

According to an interview with Game Informer, Bungie has stated that the Outlaw Lost Sectors may be a bit too powerful for players at the start, so it may be best to save these challenges until after players hunt down The Barons.

These new Lost Sectors sound like a much more challenging and enjoyable experience compared to the ones in the game currently. Lost Sectors are largely useless outside of Faction Rally events, so it’s great to see Bungie weaving them back into the game in a new, creative way.

Destiny 2: Forsaken launches September 4 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
