Now that the latest Weekly Reset has come to Bungie's science fiction shooter Destiny 2, not only are there a slew of fresh activities in which Guardians can take part, but also it must be noted that the game's first-ever Faction Rallies event has come to an end. With this being the case, the studio has now officially announced the winner of the competition, with the members of Dead Orbit being crowned the victor.

As seen in the tweet below from Bungie, the video game developer congratulates Dead Orbit, and it has even decorated The Tower in Destiny 2 to commemorate the win, which was determined by the faction that managed to earn the most reward packages during the week-long Faction Rallies event. While the studio hasn't confirmed it in an official capacity, it did say that "There is always next time!", which insinuates Faction Rallies making a return at some point in the future.

Now that the winner of Destiny 2's first-ever Faction Rallies event has been named, Guardians should be able to purchase the Legendary scout rifle known as Haunted Earth from Dead Orbit leader Arach Jalaal, while the weapons from Future War Cult and New Monarchy can't be purchased. For those unaware, Haunted Earth is priced at 50,000 glimmer for those who weren't a member of Dead Orbit, and only 1,000 glimmer for those who were.

Haunted Earth is set to be available for the next seven days as part of Destiny 2's Victory Week, with players also being able to cash in any Faction Tokens they may still have to earn additional rewards during that time. It's important to note, though, that only the first 30 faction rewards Guardians receive offer gear, with any being earned after that point only providing shaders.

All things considered, it will be interesting to see when Bungie brings Faction Rallies back into the fold. New faction weapons were just recently discovered by fans in Destiny 2's database, so it's apparent that Guardians are already itching to get their hands on the event's next set of sweet loot.

Destiny 2 is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and it is set to launch on October 24, 2017 for PC.
