Without a doubt, Destiny 2 fans are waiting with bated breath for the science fiction shooter's next major expansion, Forsaken, but there's still about a couple more months left to go before the DLC actually launches. Thankfully, though, Guardians still have other activities to tide them over in the game, with Bungie having recently announced that the final Faction Rally of Season 3 for the action-RPG sequel begins tomorrow, July 17, 2018.

In addition to Bungie's declaration of the last Faction Rally for Destiny 2's third season, the video game developer also made sure to mention that today, July 16, 2018, will be Guardians' last chance to hop into the Iron Banner before the next one occurs. According to the studio, while only one more Faction Rally remains this season, there will at least be one more Iron Banner to come before Season 3 ends.

For those unaware, Dead Orbit became Season 3's most recent Faction Rally winner, thanks to the fact that Bungie tied the best and most highly coveted PvP weapons out there at the time to the faction, allowing the victors to get the Graviton Lance at a reduced rate. At this rate, there’s really no telling which faction will come out on top for Season 3's final Faction Rally, but if Dead Orbit offers a grenade launcher the next time around, they will likely lose due to many seeing it as one of the worst weapons in the game due to its poor hit detection.

Season 3's final Faction Rally aside, as previously mentioned, Destiny 2 has plenty of other exciting content on the horizon for Guardians, with the Forsaken DLC aiming to seriously beef up the title with a slew of fresh playable materials. Whether its the expansion's fresh locations of the Tangled Shore and the Dreaming City, its new armaments such as the never-before-included bow weapon, or the inventive Gambit mode, players have plenty to be excited about later this year.

Destiny 2: Forsaken releases on September 4, 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
