Several days ago, the video game developer Bungie provided Guardians with a run down of what should be expected from the annual Halloween celebration known as Festival of the Lost coming to the science fiction shooter Destiny 2. Now, the studio has decided to amp up anticipation for the event ahead of it going live tomorrow by teasing infinite horrors to come by way of a brand new trailer detailing the content coming during the fall jamboree.

As seen in Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost trailer below, the footage starts out by offering a glimpse of the forthcoming Haunted Forest mode, which will task Guardians with killing “ghouls and demons” while trying to get as far as they can into the Infinite Forest within a 15 minute time limit. What's more is that there will be masks to earn and wear, an exclusive Horror Story Auto Rifle to acquire, and there will be twice as many Bright Engram drops until the event ends on November 6.

In addition to the Haunted Forest mode and the other aforementioned Festival of the Lost goodies, the Halloween-themed Destiny 2 event will also see the Tower get decorations to celebrate the spirit of the season. Plus, there will also be a new activity that puts Guardians on the case to avenge a fallen friend, as Master Ives has been killed, and it’s up to players to right this wrong. This activity will take place through quest line on Tuesday, October 30, and will add an additional powerful reward for players to earn each week.

On the surface, Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost appears to be a large improvement over the way in which Bungie handled the event in previous years, with the annual celebration receiving a lot more meaningful content to engage with instead of players simply getting to collect masks. And hopefully, the addition of the Haunted Forest will be sumptuous enough to give Guardians an incentive to keep diving back into the mode again and again until 2018's Festival of the Lost ends.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
