Yesterday, early access to the PC beta of Destiny 2 opened up for a select group of players. Today it opens to everyone on the platform — and starting tomorrow, there will be a special opportunity to access the game's brand new social hub, The Farm.

The Farm is new to Destiny 2, a necessary change to the Guardians' base of operations after The Tower falls, kickstarting the game's plot. It's a much more rustic, tranquil environment than the previous hub, characterized by plenty of greenery, a futuristic wind farm, and an overgrown watermill.

Console players had their own chance to take a look at The Farm a few weeks back — and some Guardians took full advantage of the opportunity. Now it's time for the PC community to take their first steps into a location that they'll likely spend a lot of time in over the course of the game's lifespan.

Destiny 2 Beta Visits the Farm

It's worth noting that Guardians won't experience everything that The Farm has to offer when it opens its gates. The vendors have apparently been given some time off, meaning that there won't be any opportunity to grab new gear or quests from them (this is just a preview of the full game, after all).

However, that's not to say that there's nothing to do in the game's new social space during the beta. Some players managed to find some suspicious morse code sequences during the console test, so it'll be interesting to see whether the PC crowd can find anything else hidden away in the area.

Of course, that's if they can tear themselves away from playing a game of soccer with their fellow Guardians. The balls hidden away in The Tower were a fun diversion in the first game, but football fans will have a full pitch to work with when they hit The Farm in Destiny 2.

The Farm will be open to players in the PC beta from 5PM to 7PM PT on August 30, 2017. The Destiny 2 beta comes to an end for PC players on August 31, 2017.

Destiny 2 releases for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 6, 2017. The PC version of the game launches on October 24, 2017.
