Destiny 2 released nearly 4 years ago and over that time since release, it has managed to create a dedicated community of fans. This group of gamers has showed off their passion for the sci-fi shooter through impressive cosplays of popular characters along with artists' illustrations of some of the most intricate characters and guns found in the game. One fan named uhohspaghetti000 has taken a different approach to exhibit their love of Destiny 2 by creating 3D concept art of a Legendary Hand Cannon.

In a reddit post, uhohspaghetti000 revealed his concept for a new Legendary Hand Cannon. The images are highly detailed and look arguably good enough to be from the game. Amongst the collection of pictures, there is even one with Crow, a character from the game, holding the concept weapon. The design was based around Aunor Mahal, a Warlock mentioned in Destiny's lore.

The designer desired not only to make a visually pleasing piece of weaponry that looked at home in the game's detailed worlds, but they also wanted to add to Destiny 2's lore. Uhohspaghetti000's went into detail on how the narrative impacted his design choices. The decision to invert the logo was made to "imply the vanguard's darker participations with organizations such as hidden agents or assassins." Furthermore, the gun features a darker color palette consisting of dark blues and blacks offset with a brighter yellow for the upside down Vanguard symbol. These contrasting colors in addition to the inverse logo suggest that "every coin has 2 sides" according to the creator.

Uhohspaghetti000 utilized various software to make his vision a reality. The designer noted that Maya was used to create the models while Marmoset took care of the rendering. In addition, they used Substance Painter for texturing work and Photoshop to touchup the images.

The Destiny 2 community's reaction to this new 3D concept art on Reddit has been very positive. The post has accrued nearly 4,000 upvotes. Many fans commented on the level of detail on display in the high-res images. Others joked about the difference between a Hand Cannon and Sidearm in the game, noting the former's bulky appearance.

The quality of 3D concept art like the ones on display from uhohspaghetti000 raise the question as to whether the developers should adopt these designs into the actual game itself. For fans of the art of this Destiny 2 hand cannon, the good news is they probably won't have to wait long for future designs. The creator has said that they have plans to branch out and create exotic armor pieces. However, they plan on "doing at least 1 more weapon first!"
