Destiny 2's first expansion, Curse of Osiris, just launched this week but the game will see the return of its Faction Rally event on December 12 at reset. While it's the third time Faction Rally has come to the game (the second for PC due to its delayed launch), it will be the first instance of the event taking place in Season 2 of the game.

There aren't any dramatic changes coming to Faction Rally, but due to the refreshed inventories that came to Destiny 2 as part of Season 2, each faction is also getting a handful of new weapons to offer those willing to grind out the tokens to earn the reward engrams.

In addition to new weapons, the Curse of Osiris expansion update added ornaments to armor. While the base armor for the factions is the same as Season 1, the ornaments change the look of the armor. Each piece of armor requires the player to do different tasks, such as winning Crucible matches or completing Nightfall strikes to unlock the ornament, which then unlocks the ornament on every applicable piece of armor account-wide. Here's a look at the armor with the new ornaments turned on.

As usual, the winning faction (determined by how many tokens are collected and turned in by players) will offer a weapon after the Faction Rally event ends. Those pledged to the winning faction will be able to buy the weapon for 1,000 Glimmer, while those not pledged will have to pay a hefty price of 50,000 Glimmer. This time around, every faction is offering an auto rifle.

The Faction Rally begins at 9 a.m. PST on December 12 and goes an entire week to 9 a.m. on December 19. The amount of tokens received for playing activities has been increased as part of the December 5 patch so it's possible that token gains will also be increased for Faction tokens. What isn't know is if the latest token farming exploit has been patched or will be in the December 12 update.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
