Destiny 2 players have discovered a weird glitch/exploit that allows any weapon to have blazing fast reload. It does require a very specific setup to get active, but once done correctly any weapon, even an exotic, can benefit from the fast reload of the Feeding Frenzy perk.

User Pastuleo23 (Cheese Forever on YouTube) was the first to share this glitch on Reddit with a very concise explanation of how it’s done. Basically, you want to have two weapons that have Feeding Frenzy on them, get a kill with one, melee an enemy, switch weapons, and then get a kill with the other weapon.

If done correctly, the Destiny 2 player should have Feeding Frenzy x2 in their kill feed. Then when they switch to a weapon without Feeding Frenzy, like an exotic weapon or a slow-reloading weapon like a rocket launcher, they will still have the perk active.

If this Destiny 2 exploit didn’t take so much setup it might be an issue for the game, but as it stands it’s a fun way to play around with some exotics. In the video below, Pastuleo23 shows how Feeding Frenzy can make exotics like One Thousand Voices and Wardcliff Coil reload super fast.

The one real benefit to this exploit that we could see leading to some interesting situations is giving the Izanagi’s Burden exotic sniper rifle fast reload. With Feeding Frenzy active at all times, players could quickly activate the Honed Edge buff for big damage and then get another quadruple damage bullet in the chamber very fast.

Outside of that, this exploit is more something fun to play around with than something that will run rampant in the Crucible and run balance in the game. Having fast reload is one thing, but needing to use two Feeding Frenzy and melee killing an enemy is not going to be easy to setup in PvP or even PvE situations where fast reload is useful. Still, it’s important to call out these types of exploits in the even they could ruin the experience so Bungie is aware of them and can decide how best to proceed.

There is a Destiny 2 patch set for July 9th and it looks to be a substantial one. As the final update before the launch of the Shadowkeep pre-update, this patch will introduce a few changes including a nerf to Lord of Wolves, re-balancing of roaming super resilience, and it will remove the Menagerie chest exploit.

Destiny 2 is available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
