Destiny 2 has managed to entertain fans with its steady stream of updates and additional content. The title developed by Bungie has had a mixed reception and while some players have had issues with the updates to Destiny 2 others have found them to improve and expand upon their experience. Despite divided opinion on updates, it seems that the social media account of Destiny made a post about its Year 4 plans, only to delete the post shortly after.

The gameplay of Destiny 2 consists of online first-person shooting with multiplayer options and it sprawls many worlds and areas to create a varied experience. The online component of the game has allowed for some impressive scenes in Destiny 2 and with its unique blend of gameplay, the title has managed to cultivate a dedicated audience. A great deal of this audience was excited by a post from the Instagram account of Destiny before it was quickly removed.

The post teased new content and revealed when players could expect the next big announcement for Destiny 2. The teaser showed the characters Eris Morn trekking through a snowy landscape and crawling up a mountain. In keeping with the science fiction genre which Destiny 2 adheres to there were also stunning wide shots that showed a huge planet in the distance. The trailer concludes with written text that states "June 9, 9 am PDT." Naturally, this trailer for Destiny 2 created a great deal of anticipation and it is still unclear why it was removed.

destiny 2 teaser update

There is a distinct possibility that the post was taken down to not detract from the Black Lives Matter movement and the current social crisis in the US. Bungie would not be the first gaming company to alter plans in light of recent events, and if this is the reason for the post being removed then it is a commendable attempt to allow voices to be heard. On the other hand, the expansion could be facing delays and the trailer may have contained misinformation, if this is the case then fans will have to wait for another reveal trailer to shed light on the release date of this update.

It will be interesting to see when this expansion for Destiny 2 resurfaces and what reason the developer, Bungie, gives for the delay. In the meantime, players can continue looting and exploring Destiny 2 in preparation for the next challenge that seemed set to arrive this month.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
