Destiny 2 remains a very successful game throughout the years, and that's because it is one of the most compelling looter shooter games around, as well as one that gets constantly updated with new content. This is achieved by Bungie with the current seasonal model, which usually consists of a new Season every three months and lots of story and gameplay content, as well as annual expansions. As such, many players are looking forward to The Witch Queen being released to see what's next for Destiny 2, including the future of customization and build creation.
Making different builds can be fun in Destiny 2, and that's because there are many options available in the form of several Exotic armor pieces and Exotic guns, all interacting differently with one another. Exotic weapons are often very valuable when it comes to the best DPS strategies and one-phasing bosses like that of The Corrupted Grandmaster Nightfall, but they also tend to be build-enabling if paired with efficient mods. However, not all Exotic weapons are equally strong and useful in Destiny 2, with some being too strong and others needing improvements.
Such is the case of Stasis Exotic weapons, according to a Reddit user by the name of aa821 and fellow Destiny 2 players, who pointed out how irrelevant guns like Cryosthesia 77K and Salvation's Grip are. This of course excludes Legendary Stasis weapons and Ager's Scepter, which instead served the purpose of enabling more Stasis builds thanks to the Headstone perk for the former and the powerful catalyst for the latter. Instead, Cryosthesia 77K and Salvation's Grip were never even part of the game's meta, to begin with, and that's because of how little the benefit of using them is.
Ager's Scepter and the Headstone legendary perk have effectively power-creeped Cryosthesia 77k and Salvation's Grip into irrelevance from DestinyTheGame
Salvation's Grip is mostly used to climb walls or block entrances, which can sometimes be useful in Master Vault of Glass, but not much else outside of that. Cryosthesia 77K is even worse because it entails a convoluted mechanic to trigger a single Stasis shot that can freeze enemies, which Ager's Scepter does much better and more easily.
Destiny 2's community also found inconsistency in player behavior in PvP, lately, and that's because of the changes Bungie made to the Trials of Osiris. This sort of post can be very useful to Bungie in order to better understand what the players want in Destiny 2 moving forward, especially with The Witch Queen closing in.
Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
