Season 3 in Destiny 2 and the release of the highly anticipated Destiny 2 Warmind expansion are on the horizon, and Bungie is making some big changes to the game that will be implemented during the Destiny 2 weekly reset on Tuesday. Recently, in addition to many other changes, Bungie has also announced and explained the changes that will be made to Eververse with the advent of Season 3.

Bungie is adding a new feature to Eververse called Prismatic Matrix. Players will earn Prismatic Facets to spend at Eververse and then use these to purchase 1 of 10 Eververse items from Season 3 each week it is active. Prismatic Facets stack up to 3, and players earn one free Prismatic Facet with their first well-rested level-up each week. Thereafter players can continue to purchase Prismatic Facets for 200 Silver each.

Each item in the Prismatic Matrix is on a knockout list, so every player is guaranteed to receive all featured items for a given week by the tenth activation of the Prismatic Matrix. Additionally, in terms of the list, items earned from Bright Engrams and Bright Dust will also knock these items off the list, but Prismatic Matrix will not replace the feature that allows players to earn Bright Engrams every time they level-up and players can still purchase Bright Engrams if they want anything from Season 3.

According to Bungie, this new Eververse feature was implemented with 3 goals in mind. First, to "give players more control over how they earn Eververse items," second, to "offer a more predictable path each week that guarantees access to specific items," and third, to "drop fewer duplicate items." Despite these goals, Pragmatic Matrix does seem unnecessarily complicated though, and players have already started indicating that this new feature of Eververse seems redundant.

Of course, Eververse has always been a controversial topic in Destiny 2, as it has caused a lot of dissatisfaction for players in the past, and players have even protested for Eververse to be removed from the game completely. During last year's Dawning event especially, players were unhappy because most of the Dawning content was locked behind the very expensive Eververse. Bungie has tried to address this by adding vanity rewards to Crucible, Nightfall, strike, and raid activities in the January update, but hopefully with these new changes though, players will change their sentiments towards Eververse.

Destiny 2 Warmind will be out on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on May 8th.
