Destiny 2's forthcoming Solstice of Heroes event brings a ton of new content to the table for eager Guardians such as elemental buffs, new armor to collect, and a brand new piece of PvE content known as the European Aerial Zone (EAZ). For simplicity's sake, the EAZ works in a manner similar to the Menagerie, but it also comes with a new reward called Solstice Packages.

Destiny 2 players will be able to go to the EAZ from either the Tower or the Director, and this is a new 3-player matchmade activity that pits the team against Hive, Cabal, or Fallen enemies. When it starts, players will need to defeat as many mini-bosses as possible before time expires, at which point a final boss will spawn. It's also worth mentioning that a recent datamine discovered a ton of enemies added during the Season of Opulence that has yet to appear in-game, so players should expect to see some new enemies in the EAZ as well.

After the final boss falls, players will get to set out across the EAZ in search of treasure chests, and the more mini-bosses that were defeated by the Destiny 2 team, the more treasure there will be. These chests may contain Solstice Packages that can be opened with Solstice Key Fragments (earned by completing any event during the Solstice of Heroes event). These packages will reward players with materials, Enhancement Cores, and rare and legendary gear.

Moreover, once players have unlocked the Legendary Solstice armor, Solstice packages will reward additional armor that players can grind to find enhanced perks. It's also worth mentioning that collecting all three sets of Legendary Solstice armor will award players with the sleek EV-37 Voidstreak Sparrow, but be prepared to grind, as the Solstice of Heroes armor upgrade quests are no joke.

That's all that's really known about the EAZ for now, but considering the Solstice of Heroes event goes live on July 30, more may be learned sooner rather than later. This Destiny 2 event will then last through August 26, coming to an end just before the release of the Shadowkeep expansion.

Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
