Although Destiny 2: Shadowkeep only introduced a small number of exotic weapons at launch, many of them stand out for being top tier right out of the gate. One exotic that has emerged as a favorite is Eriana’s Vow. Eriana’s Vow is an exotic hand cannon that functions more like a sniper rifle, piercing shields and dealing bonus damage on the first shot.

On its own Eriana’s Vow is a solid exotic weapon and a fine addition to Destiny 2, but with its exotic catalyst the weapon can be even stronger. The catalyst allows the hand cannon to hold more ammo in the magazine and it gives it the auto-loading holster perk (reloads the weapon when not equipped).

But, the catch is that the Eriana’s Vow catalyst is not very easy to unlock. It requires completions of Crucible matches, Strikes, or Gambit, but the percentage per match is less than 1%. Players can increase how much credit they get through the Premium Season Pass, but even then it’s slow.

Luckily, this week there is a very easy way to make fast progress through the Eriana’s Vow catalyst. For the second week of Shadowkeep, Bungie has brought back the Scorched game mode as part of the Rotator Crucible Playlist. Scorched, for those that might not know, gives every player a Scorch Cannon and lets the mayhem ensue.

What’s great about Scorched is that the matches are very short and over quickly, which makes it a perfect mode to get through the Eriana’s Vow catalyst. Even though Destiny 2 players won’t actually be using the exotic hand cannon they will get progress for each match completion. Where some Crucible games can take 10 minutes or more, Scorched matches can be completed in half the time.

Obviously, it is still going to take players a while to complete their Eriana’s Vow catalyst, but this is the fastest way by far. Most importantly, Scorched is only active as part of the Rotator Playlist for this week, so jump on it while it’s available. Presumably, Bungie will use this new playlist and Scorched more often, but it may be some time before the Crucible mode returns.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
