Just one of the handful of problems that have plagued Destiny 2 since the game launched back in September, a glitch in Cayde-6's Stash chests has caused many of the unlockable containers to be empty once opened - much to the disappointment of the title's fan-base. Although Bungie has confirmed that it is working on a fix for this issue, one observant player might have discovered why some chests aren't dropping the necessary items.

Posting on the Destiny 2 subreddit, user ACleverLettuce linked a video which clearly shows the results of opening three chests back-to-back. As shown below, the Guardian discovered that many of the game's chests are in fact missing a solid base, and it's possible for the engram drops to simply fall out of the world as soon as they spawn. Being close enough to the Stash when opening it should cause the player to grab the item before it drops, but being a little too far away will often result in losing the reward forever.

Of course, if this glitch is actually occurring then players should be receiving their drops at the Postmaster, who waits for players with missed items at the Farm, but reports indicate that this does not happen every time. It's likely that there is a bug at work here, in conjunction with this new discovery, that needs to be fixed and until the developer manages to resolve the issue, the best solution would be to stand as close as possible to every chest your Guardian opens.

In other recent Destiny 2 news, Bungie has detailed new reveal streams that will be coming in the lead up to the game's first expansion: Curse of Osiris. The first stream, entitled 'New Stories to Tell' is set to reveal the characters, places, and enemies that will be featured in the downloadable content when it launches on December 5 for all platforms.

The expansion pack is already revealed to contain a new planet and social space to explore, as well as the usual horde of fresh weaponry and other gear that players can unlock. For those who value the game's online modes, Bungie are releasing new cooperative activities and competitive multiplayer arenas in order to keep its MMO-inspired shooter feeling fresh and varied for all players.

Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
