With every new season in Destiny 2, Bungie introduces new emotes and other cosmetics for players to acquire through the Eververse Store. For players that are just picking up the game, like those getting a free copy on PC, there is no way to get Eververse items from a previous season – until now. Starting tomorrow, and running for a full week, Eververse will be selling emotes from year one to give players a second chance at filling out their collection.

The Temporal Surge begins at 9 a.m. PST on November 6 and runs until 9 a.m. PST on November 13, and players will be able to purchase several different returning emotes for Silver, Destiny 2’s microtransaction currency. The amount of silver will vary depending on the rarity of the emote. Rare blue quality emotes will cost 200 silver, Legendary emotes will cost 500 silver, and Exotic emotes will cost 1,000 silver. For reference, 500 silver roughly equates to $5, so players may have to shell out a pretty penny to get these previously-unobtainable emotes.

In the blog post from Bungie, the developer confirmed that the Temporal Surge would return at a later date after the initial run, and they plan to have it contain other types of cosmetics, not just emotes. These Surges will be a way for new and returning players to snag cosmetics that came out before they started playing. With Destiny 2’s Refer-a-Friend program in full swing, there are sure to be many new players who may want to get some of the classic emotes like Spicy Ramen or Six Shooter. Exotic emotes sold in the Surge will be colored differently than the original emotes to give the originals a more unique quality. Legendary and Rare emotes will be unchanged from the original versions.

With the success of the Forsaken expansion, many new players are flocking to Destiny 2 to see what all the hype is about. Forsaken made a lot of changes to the game, many of which have made the game a lot better than it was in year one, so it makes a great returning (or starting) point for players who want to experience everything Destiny 2 has to offer. Hopefully, these Temporal Surges will return in the near future with items like exotic ships and ornaments so players can truly play in style.

Destiny 2: Forsaken is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
