Destiny 2 players have discovered that one of the game’s emotes lets them glitch through almost any wall. While this latest discovery has not had any major impact on the game thus far, its implications could be far reaching.

For those that are curious, the emote in question is the Bureaucratic Walk, a play on the Monty Python skit “Ministry of Silly Walks.” When activated, the emote sees the player put his or her left foot way forward before shuffling their right foot and repeating the process. The Bureaucratic Walk also happens to be on sale at Eververse for 800 Bright Dust.

It’s a goofy emote to be sure, but it also has a unique property of letting players glitch through walls. See, when the emote forces the Guardian to put its foot forward, they also lean backward without collision. And players found that if they crouch at the right moment, they will actually end up behind a wall or texture.

As of right now, Bungie has not acknowledged the glitch but it shouldn’t be too long before the developer does. In the wrong hands, a glitch like this could lead to rampant cheating in PvP, which is a major issue with both Iron Banner and Trials of the Nine currently active.

On the flip side, the glitch allows Destiny 2 explorers to poke around outside of the game’s boundaries and look for secrets. Out of bounds glitches are nothing new for Destiny 2 – one player used a glitch to open chests in the Leviathan raid – and they typically uncover some really interesting areas.

In fact, it was out of bounds glitching that revealed certain DLC areas from Destiny 1 were actually programmed onto the disk. Currently, no one has uncovered anything that major, but the glitch is only just now spreading around the Destiny 2 community.

The glitch might also prove useful for figuring out whether there truly is a secret mission area in Destiny 2 that is waiting to be unlocked on a set date. There are some strong candidates for missions and areas that could be hiding secrets, but players have been thwarted by boundary limitations.

Given how game-breaking the glitch is, we fully expect Bungie to remove the emote as a preventative measure, and we hope that they gift some bright dust to those that own it.

Destiny 2 is out now for PS4 and Xbox One. The PC version releases on October 24th.
