When art imitates life, and life imitates right back, it's truly something special. With so many voice actors jumping on Twitch to stream, situations like this were bound to occur. This instance happened to occur when renowned voice actor Todd Haberkorn, the voice of The Drifter, played in Gambit mode for Destiny 2.

The Drifter, who is a nameless rogue, was voiced originally by Haberkorn himself. In the stream, Haberkorn can be heard using the same voice styling he employed for the character. While the game's audio is lower than his own, it comes through as a genuine reflection of the character. At one point, one person watching reminds Haberkorn to listen to himself.

Gambit, a Destiny 2 game mode run by Haberkorn's character, employs a team-based competition. Two teams of four will have to gather motes and deposit them in a bank situated in the center of the arena. Once 100 has been gathered by a team, a boss spawns, and the first team to defeat the boss wins. There is a myriad of things the enemy team can do to slow down the opposing team, which makes it a team-based game mode. There can be a total of 3 rounds, and the winning team takes the best of 3.

Haberkorn begins the stream with his in-character voice and continues to speak as The Drifter throughout. From time to time he fades back into his natural voice, but for viewers, hearing the voice of many popular characters is a real treat to hear.

Twitch has become a popular place for many voice actors to show off some of their ability while interacting with fans. During the ongoing pandemic where conventions are not nearly as plentiful, voice actors like Haberkorn, Kyle Hebert, and Brianna Knickerbocker, to name a few, have taken to streaming to show their talent and have some fun. Whereas Haberkorn has voiced The Drifter, Hebert has voiced Ryu from Street Fighter 5, and Knickerbocker has voiced Hu Tao from Genshin Impact.

When not voicing The Drifter, Haberkorn's talents have spanned many areas, notably Natsu Dragneel from the anime Fairy Tail, Jaco from Dragon Ball Super, and many others. Fans can watch Haberkorn on his Twitch channel, and catch his voice in a number of other games. Twitch has become a tremendous place to interact with all sorts of people streaming, and when famous voices join the platform, it certainly can add a new flair to the viewing experience.

Destiny 2 is available now for Google Stadia, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and  Xbox Series X/S.
