Destiny 2's Season of Opulence begins on June 4th at 10 AM PT, and the Crown of Sorrow raid will begin just 6 hours later at 4 PM PT. This may very well mean that the race for World's First will tighter than normal, but also some will be at a plain disadvantage due to time and data restrictions. Regardless, everyone will be working to prepare for the Crown of Sorrow raid, and for those looking at weapons specifically, a new DPS chart shows which weapons are best for the raid.

Thanks to Redditor IAMADragonAMAA, this new Destiny 2 chart is a large spreadsheet that crunches the numbers on the DPS and total damage of weapons in PvE raid encounters, with previews of weapons post-buff/nerf. The test subject for this raid was Kali from the Last Wish raid, and for the most part, the chart covers everything Destiny 2 player would want to know before heading into Crown of Sorrow.

Fusion Rifle DPS is in the chart, but only for the basic charge. Swords are not included, however. Some of Redditor IAMADragonAMAA's best findings suggest that Sidearms and SMGs as primaries, specifically with Adaptive 3-bursts, have a surprisingly large amount of damage output. High-Impact Scout Rifles have one of the best total damage scores, and Cerberus+1 has some seriously high damage potential (if players can get their hands on it).

Destiny 2's Loaded Question can even out DPS Merciless following its incoming buff, so with all these changes, it'll be interesting to see the weapon loadouts everyone takes into the raid. With the time to grind for power levels limited, it's good to note that there will be a Contest modifier active on the Crown of Sorrow raid that limits the power level of the encounters to ensure a fair playing field for the first 24 hours. Still, we recommend every Destiny 2 player check out IAMADragonAMAA's DPS chart here.

Speaking of Destiny 2's World's First race for completion of the Crown of Sorrow raid, the aforementioned 6-hour prep time and the contest modifier make this race the fairest it's ever been, but it does remain to be seen how well this works out. If it is as well-received as everyone expects it to be, players may see more of this in the future.

Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
