The Witch Queen era of Destiny 2 has reached what is likely its near-halfway mark, and it has brought a ton of changes from Void and Solar 3.0 to Iron Banner Rift mode to crafting as well as some unpopular changes to in-air-accuracy.

It also introduced a brand-new map for PVP called Disjunction, which is a Throne World-themed map straight out of Savathun's swamps. The map is known for its huge sightlines and a vast, large outside area, as well as some cramped chokepoints. Here's how to best play on Disjunction in Destiny 2.

6 Disjunction Favors Long-Range Engagements

One of the biggest complaints concerning Disjunction is the fact that it has a huge outside area with long sightlines. Overall, it does have many corridors even in its inside zones that are favorable to long-range engagements, which can be frustrating for players used to hand cannons and shotguns.

Having a sniper rifle or a fusion rifle is a real advantage on this map. Those who are comfortable with rifles can choose between scouts and pulse rifles, with pulse rifles particularly strong in season 17 and a few good Exotic options available, such as Vigilance Wing and No Time To Explain.

Otherwise, with how powerful Omnioculus is for Hunters, they can opt for the traditional hand cannon and shotgun approach but use invisibility to get to a close-range engagement with their enemies.

5 Mid Is The Most Dangerous Area

Disjunction's middle area is one of the most brutal parts of the map. It provides great high ground and sightlines for players, which means peeking a corner here could get the player killed almost instantly. The long-range means that players could technically snipe someone across the map if they have enough range on their sniper rifle.

On the flip side, however, it's also one of the best places to get kills. Mid can be accessed from several openings, making flanks and angles wonderful against oppressive snipers or long-range fusion rifle users. Since most players tend to rush here at some point, Disjunction's mid is the perfect spot for early game chaos.

4 High Mobility Can Be A Game Changer On Disjunction

Since there's a lot of ground to cover on Disjunction, players will want to go fast. Hunters are at an advantage in this regard, but Titans can use their shield bash to move forward and Warlocks can equip Icarus Dash for a short boost.

These will make traversing the map more tolerable, and also getting into position much easier. Moreover, any Exotics that boost sprinting speed like Transversive Steps can be beneficial in a map like Disjunction where players will be moving a lot before they get to an engagement.

3 Take Advantage Of Chokepoints

Depending on how players like to play, the chokepoints on Disjunction can be a blessing or a curse. They're fantastic for players who prefer a slower playstyle of holding these chokes and using natural cover. Stationary ultimate like Ward of Dawn and Well of Radiance also shine in these chokepoints.

If that's the player's favorite playstyle and they despise high-speed engagements, holding these chokepoints can be a great way to get through this map, so long as they have long-range weapons at the ready. Snipers, scout rifles, and pulse rifles are the best friends of a player who wants to keep playing safe at the chokepoint.

Any defensive abilities, which are extremely strong this season, will also help when holding these chokes. Healing grenades, Classy Restoration, rifts, and shields will be extremely powerful and downright oppressive.

2 Keep An Eye On Flank Routes

Even though there are great chokepoints on Disjunction, the map also has incredible flank routes. With high enough mobility, players can easily go around to harass more stationary players and break oppressive chokepoints by taking a different angle.

Conversely, those holding chokes should be careful about flanks, and even players roaming around quickly should be aware of the many pathways that zigzag around Disjunction. Players using invisibility will have a significant advantage here when using these flank routes, and can easily force more close-range engagements. This can force players out from behind shields and out of their Rifts.

1 Put On Roaming Supers

The strongest Supers on Disjunction will inevitably be Supers that allow players to chase and roam around. Though there is a time and place for Well and Ward of Dawn, they remain mild annoyances compared to something as strong as Golden Gun and Daybreak for example.

Single damage Supers like Thundercrash and Nova Bomb can work in some situations, but the map topography can mess these Supers up easily, especially against more mobile players that can simply run away or take cover from Supers. Timing and speed are everything on Disjunction.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
