Destiny 2's Season of the Lost was broadly well received at launch due to it featuring iconic characters once more and also allowing fusion rifles and linear fusion rifles to shine once more after a long time. This is mainly due to all the changes made to every fusion rifle archetype and the fact that the strongest seasonal mod is Particle Deconstruction, one that stacks a debuff on enemies that increases all damage dealt by fusion and linear fusion rifles. As such, a plethora of weapons became much more valuable in Destiny 2's current Season because of this, including Cartesian Coordinate, One Thousand Voices, and Threaded Needle.

One more gun that has always been good for clearing multiple adds is Telesto, an Exotic fusion rifle with a troubled past, as it is the gun that broke the game or caused glitches the most out of all of Destiny 2's arsenal. Inevitably, with a Season revolving around the use of fusion rifles, Telesto ended up causing a series of issues ranging from infinite Orbs of Power to its bolts acting as armor for allies in PvP. For these reasons, the gun was disabled in PvP and Gambit multiple times this Season.

And yet, Destiny 2 content creator and YouTuber Cheese Forever discovered that the new Trials Labs for Trials of Osiris is unaffected by the recent changes, and Telesto can be used in Freelance mode but not in any other Crucible mode. It is still not clear what the reason behind this new glitch is, as Bungie has not acknowledged the bug yet, but it doesn't seem to work for Raiju's Harness, another Exotic that was disabled alongside Telesto last week. This means there is no estimated time for the fix to drop and successfully disable Telesto, which in the meanwhile could lead to more issues, especially since the armor on allies glitch is not fixed yet.

The issue, however, sprawled a series of memes within the Destiny 2 community because of how often the gun breaks something. Before Telesto sort of re-enabled itself into the game this weekend, there had already been a few memes circulating on the topic, stating that if the gun was to be removed permanently from the game it would just manifest itself back in. To top it off, Cozmo, one of Bungie's community managers, shared a tweet with a picture of a pumpkin carving showing Telesto, stating that he carved the scariest thing he could think of.

After all the debates regarding the price of The Witch Queen expansion and the Dungeons as well, the community needed some respite. That's why all the Telesto jokes come at such a good time, as well as Bungie teasing a buff to Whisper of the Worm, a fan-favorite gun.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
