Destiny 2 holds special events around different holidays of the year. Recently, Guardians were informed that the Valentine’s Day event Crimson Days had been cancelled; in turn, this sparked some questions in the Destiny 2 community about the state of future holiday related events. Bungie then announced the return of Festival of the Lost in unique way.

In the March 4 This Week at Bungie, the studio opened up the first ever community vote on what armor Ornaments the community would like to obtain for the upcoming Festival of the Lost. Showcasing both a Movie Monsters and a Dinosaur themed armor Ornament set, Bungie allowed Guardians to vote on their favorite to be released during Festival of the Lost, causing #TeamMonsters and #TeamDinosaurs to become trending on Twitter.

After a week of voting by the Destiny Community, Bungie released the winner of the Movie Monsters vs Dinosaurs vote. With just over 200,000 votes cast, Dinosaurs emerged the winner. Bungie also interestingly shared that 81% of Titans voted for Dinosaurs over the 19% that voted for Movie Monsters. With the Dinosaurs winning the vote, Guardians can expect to see them in game for the upcoming Festival of the Lost event. Guardians will be able to purchase the Dinosaur Ornaments from Eververse with either Silver or Bright Dust during the event.

Festival of the Lost + Dino Armor = Good Destiny 2 Times, Hopefully

Luckily for the Guardians who were Team Monster, Bungie stated that there is still opportunity for the Movie Monsters Ornaments to be released in the future. The Movie Monsters sets features a Godzilla Hunter set, Creature of the Black Lagoon Warlock set, and the Titan was a Cyclops set, possibly inspired by the Cyclops from Seventh Voyage of Sinbad.

For the Dinosaur Ornaments, Hunters will be getting a Raptor inspired set. With a Mechanized Raptor head for a Helmet, Hunters will have sharp looking teeth to intimidate their enemies across the Sol System. Spiked Gauntlets and Claws on their boots also gives this set the look of a quick and nimble Raptor this upcoming Festival of the Lost. It is adorned with a brown desert camo styled shader.

Warlocks will get a Triceratops Ornament set outfitted with a spiked Helmet and Class Item, and the Warlock Dinosaur Ornament holds a Fallen aesthetic with the way the armor is shaped. Ready for the cold, the Warlock Chest Ornament appears to have some fur around the collar. The Leg armor for the Warlock also has spiked toes, and the Triceratops Ornament set has a greenish brown shader applied to it.

Titans will be getting a mechanized T-Rex Ornament set for Festival of the Lost, with a robotic T-Rex head for the Helmet. The Titans also get a Chest Ornament with fangs surrounding it and the Titan logo on the chest. The red in the silver shader could be a nod to the original Red Ranger. With claws on the toes of the boots, and what appears to be scales on the Class Item, Titans will be ready to assert their Dinosaur dominance against their foes.

While all the Ornament sets were shown with shaders, Guardians will have their own shaders available to change these colors and personalize their Dinosaur inspired Guardian. Bungie has not done a community vote like this and has stated that they are excited to do more votes like this in the future. Community votes like this could expand past armor Ornaments and possibly into weapon Ornaments or other parts of the game.
