Destiny 2 players have a new weapon to chase this week, which is actually quite good and for some will definitely be worth the chase. The D.F.A. hand cannon is an exclusive Nightfall reward that is only available when the Tree of Probabilities strike is active as the Nightfall, as it is this week.

D.F.A. is one of the best hand cannons in the game in both stats and perks, and is good in both PvE and PvP. It is in the same Impact and Rate of Fire class as the Better Devils, arguably the most widely used hand cannon in Destiny 2. But D.F.A. outclasses Better Devils in Range, Stability, Handling, and Reload Speed, although it does not have explosive rounds and has one less bullet per magazine. It also outclasses the stats of the other top-tier hand cannon in the game, the Leviathan raid's Midnight Coup.

But what D.F.A. might lack in Explosive Rounds and a slightly slower rate of fire than the Midnight Coup it makes up for with its Rampage perk, which is one of the best perks in PvP. Rampage grants increased damage (temporarily) after getting a kill with the weapon and stacks up to three times. D.F.A. also has high aim assist and very vertical recoil. Those who aren't a fan of Rampage can switch to Opening Shot granting higher accuracy and recoil on its initial shot, a potentially helpful perk for PvP.

Guardians take on Valus Thuul

This could very well be a hand cannon aficionado's dream, and with that comes the challenge of getting this weapon to drop. It is entirely dependent on RNG when defeating the Nightfall this week. And although developer Bungie says that chances increase at higher score levels in the Nightfall, fans seem to have found better ways to both cheese and farm this week's Nightfall for D.F.A.

Here are two methods that could help you get D.F.A. before the Nightfall switches upon the next reset. The first video shows numerous spots where players can hide or bypass certain sections of the Nightfall, allowing for easier runs:

The second is more of a speed run and farm. It shows how to get to the boss fight in five to six minutes, and then how to burn down the boss in the first section:

Either way, players seem to be having more luck getting D.F.A to drop on Normal mode, so our advice would be to stick with easier, quicker runs on Normal instead of trying to grind for high scores in the Prestige mode.

While Nightfall rewards haven't been enough to draw Destiny 2 players back in droves (especially last week's underwhelming exotic Ghost shell), D.F.A. and the Silicon Neuroma have been worthy rewards, making good on Bungie's promise of the Nightfall's awarding higher tier loot.

Destiny 2 and its Curse of Osiris expansion are available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
