There’s a lot of content coming to Destiny 2 over the next few months. The 30th Anniversary event kicks off in December, and will be quickly followed by the release of The Witch Queen expansion in February 2022. The expansion itself is going to include a lot to push the story of Destiny 2 forward, and has several different editions for players to purchase.

The most expensive version of The Witch Queen expansion is the Deluxe Edition 30th Anniversary Bundle. This will include all the content from the different Witch Queen editions, as well as the content from the 30th Anniversary Pack. As a single unit, it will cost Destiny 2 players $99.99.

The Witch Queen Deluxe Edition

Savathun, the Witch Queen, stands in front of the black Pyramid that resides in her throne world in Destiny 2.

Overall, the Deluxe Edition 30th Anniversary Bundle is something a lot of players should be interested in. With each edition of the Witch Queen included, fans will have access to the majority - if not all of the content that is going to be in Year 5 of Destiny 2. This starts with all of the content that players get from the standard edition of The Witch Queen, which will include a new campaign, the addition of weapon crafting, the Glaive weapon archetype, a raid, Savathun’s Throne World, a unique six-player activity, as well as Legendary difficulties for missions to challenge the most determined players in a similar way to Nightfall and Grandmaster Nightfall Strikes.

The content from the Deluxe Edition adds even more, including several important extras for Year 5. Along with access to Seasons 16, 17, 18, and 19, an exotic SMG along with its catalyst and ornament will be given to players. The Throne World Exotic Sparrow, alongside access to the two new dungeons coming to Destiny 2 Year 5, are also included in the Deluxe Edition. While dungeons have split the Destiny 2 community, their inclusion in the Deluxe Edition of The Witch Queen hints at an overall change to how dungeons will continue to be handled in the game.

Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack

A teaser of the new loot cave themed dungeon coming to Destiny 2 in the 30 Anniversary Pack.

The 30th Anniversary Pack’s inclusion in the bundle doesn’t bring a lot in terms of The Witch Queen and its story content, but it does have some notable additions players have been looking forward to. Along with a new dungeon, weapons inspired by previous Bungie titles, a unique helmet ornament, emblems, shaders, emotes, an exotic ship, and sparrow, there are three ornament sets to pick up. One is inspired by the hand cannon Thorn, another is inspired by Marathon, and the last is a Bungie streetwear set. The cherry for many players is the addition of the coveted Gjallarhorn exotic rocket launcher, as well as its ornament and catalyst.

While most of these items from the 30th Anniversary Pack are cosmetic, Gjallarhorn's addition to Destiny 2 has been long-awaited. A loot cave-themed area will round out the dungeons being made available over the next year or so. This increases the amount of challenging PvE activities for Destiny 2 players to enjoy, and should help those fans who might want something more but don’t feel like doing Grandmaster Nightfall Strikes or Raids.

The Witch Queen Pre-Order Bonuses

Rounding out the content in the Deluxe Edition 30th Anniversary Bundle are pre-order unlocks. While $99.99 is a lot to spend, for many people the pre-order bonuses do add a little extra to make it worth picking up. On top of a Throne World exotic Ghost shell, Destiny 2 players who pre-order The Witch Queen Deluxe Edition 30th Anniversary Bundle will also receive the Enigma exotic emote and a legendary emblem.

As pre-order bonuses go, it isn’t the most that players could hope for, but it is something flashy to show off. Considering how much comes in the Deluxe Edition 30th Anniversary Bundle, the pre-order bonus becomes more something to remind players that in a couple of months’ time Destiny 2 will be changing significantly. Between huge changes to the Void sub-classes and all the expansion and anniversary content, fans should have a lot to do going into Year 5. The Deluxe Edition 30th Anniversary Bundle is a one-stop shop for all of it.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
