Destiny 2 is an ever-changing game where sandbox patches often drastically alter the balance and the meta, mainly due to the way buffs and nerfs to weapons or abilities impact the actual gameplay. Bungie is about to release the 30th Anniversary Pack on December 7, which is a DLC for Destiny 2 that includes new weapons, a Dungeon, an activity for 6 players, and a bunch of celebratory cosmetic items and ornaments. However, the DLC is going to be accompanied by a major sandbox patch that will introduce a new ability-based cooldown system into Destiny 2 to differentiate between each skill's power and usage.

This means that grenades, melee attacks, and class abilities will all be revised in a way that makes them more unique in order to allow players to build around that. The same principle is being applied to Destiny 2's Super abilities, albeit with a different approach, as each Super is being placed into a specific tier that regulates how much energy is regenerated over time. As such, there will very likely be some classes and subclasses that will benefit the most out of these changes, and some that won't as much.

Something that sparked a lot of debates about the ethics of one-shot abilities is Shatterdive, which is going to be nerfed heavily in PvP with the next patch, but Hunters will get a completely revised ability in the form of the Flux Grenade for Arcstriders. Recently, Kevin Yanes and Eric Smith from Bungie attended the Firing Range podcast to talk about some of these changes and why they matter to the team moving forward. The developers acknowledged that the Arcstrider is likely going to be a very interesting option for PvP due to the aforementioned Flux Grenade, but also the fact that Arc Staff is a Tier 3 Super.

Thus, Destiny 2 YouTuber and content creator Luckyy 10P shared a video to further elaborate on the fact that Titans lost their ability to one-shot enemy players in PvP via Shoulder Charge, and the same happened to Warlocks' Handheld Supernova. These things, combined with the powerful Flux Grenade and decent Tier placement for Arc Staff, are likely creating the perfect storm for Arcstriders to become widely popular.

Some Destiny 2 players are unhappy about Hunter changes in PvE and PvP because, on one hand, it may seem unfair to allow Hunters to retain an OHK ability and remove it from other classes. On the other hand, Hunters' Dodge is getting a big nerf in both game modes, and that may sting a bit.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
