The Dawning event has come to Destiny 2 once again, and it will last until the first week of January of next year, which is long enough for players to grab the best things it offers. However, some Destiny 2 players might be confused about how to get all the materials and ingredients available during The Dawning, especially considering there are many of them to collect. This quick guide shows how to get three of the more common materials: Taken Butter, Cabal Oil, Vex Milk, and Chitin Powder.
How to Get Taken Butter, Cabal Oil, Vex Milk, and Chitin Powder
Much like The Dawning's Dark Ether Cane, ingredients like Taken Butter, Cabal Oil, Vex Milk, and Chitin Powder all drop for Destiny 2 players when defeating multiple enemies that belong to the materials' respective species. As such, players can get:
- Taken Butter by defeating Taken enemies
- Cabal Oil by defeating Cabal enemies
- Vex Milk by defeating Vex enemies
- Chitin Powder by defeating Hive enemies
There is no specific requirement on where or when Destiny 2 players should kill these enemies, but a few locations and activities are more beneficial to farm than others.
The best place to go looking for all these ingredients in Destiny 2 is the all-new Dares of Eternity activity, considering that it features a great variety of enemies - meaning that with a couple of runs, players will get plenty of materials - and also great loot.
Furthermore, players who manage to get the Starhorse's Favor buff will get close to infinite Special and Heavy ammo for all their weapons, meaning that farming for ingredients like Balanced Flavors and Sharp Flavors in the meanwhile will be much easier. The same holds true for other ingredients, including Null Taste and other elemental ones.
Another great option is to grind Destiny 2's Lost Sectors, which are often packed with a single race of enemies or two, making it easier to target-farm some of the ingredients. Also, Lost Sectors on Europa contain Stasis Snowballs, which can be a fun change of pace to look forward to.
Overall, Dares of Eternity is great, but activities like Gambit and Strikes are also a great fit here because players can try and get their Pinnacle Gear while they farm for much-needed materials.
