Destiny 2's developer Bungie gave fans a preview of seasons in Destiny 2 and what they will bring to the game. The game is currently in its first season with the second coming in December. Along with it, the snowy, holiday-themed live event first seen in Destiny 1 called The Dawning will make its return in Destiny 2.

As part of previewing what The Dawning will bring to Destiny 2, Bungie showed off a sneak peek of the armor sets that players will be able to earn. These sets will be available only during The Dawning event, becoming unavailable after the conclusion of the event. Here's what the armor sets look like:

The Warlock is on the left, Hunter in the middle, and Titan on the right. The armor sets were shown at TwitchCon during a stream hosted by Bungie called "The Seasons of Destiny."

The armor itself retains the powder blue theme that was established during the first Dawning event in Destiny 1, plus it adds a complimentary silver and copper to go along with it. Presumably there will also be a Dawning shader that adds this same color scheme to other gear, but that has not yet been confirmed. Bungie didn't show off the full armor sets either, choosing to focus in on the gauntlets, but that also gives a small view of the chest pieces and helmets for each class.

Bungie promises to rework the system by which players earn rewards in coming Seasons, with the developer viewing Seasons as a chance to make larger changes to the game (like the improvements promised for Iron Banner in Season 2). Bungie didn't specify whether these sets of The Dawning armor specifically will be earned via Bright Engrams (which is the equivalent of how they were earned in Destiny 1) or if they will be earned via a token system like every other vendor in the game. The Dawning in Destiny 1 was an improvement over the Festival of the Lost event, but it also felt like a way for Bungie to push microtransactions, which are still present in Destiny 2.

There's much more to learn about The Dawning including some pretty big what's and how's, but fans are sure to find out more in the coming months on the lead-up to December.

Destiny 2 is available now for PS4 and Xbox One, and on October 24, 2017 for PC.
