Destiny 2 players have been enjoying a much-needed release in the longest Season ever for the game, and that's thanks to the 30th Anniversary Pack. The DLC has gotten positive comments online for its immense replay value combined with unique new weapons and armor pieces, as well as farmable cosmetic items free for all players. Dares of Eternity has become the new benchmark for future activities within Destiny 2, and that's because it provides a fun, compelling gameplay loop that also happens to be extremely rewarding, especially compared to other content from the game's past and present seasonal activities.

There is still a lot more for Destiny 2 players to look forward to thanks to The Dawning event, releasing today after the weekly reset. The event is a recurring one that is meant to celebrate the holiday season within Destiny 2, often with a lot of cookies and new rewards. This is also a time to bring back old classics, and Destiny 2 datamining suggests The Dawning's Glacioclasm fusion rifle will be OP this year thanks to new perks being added to its pool.

As for new rewards, Bungie just released the official information and short trailer for The Dawning event, and the new holiday weapon is the Zephyr Legendary sword. There will also be an Exotic ship and Sparrow for players to obtain this time around: the Vapoorwill Spin Exotic ship and the Fractic Spiral Sparrow, but that's not all. In fact, just by visiting Eva Levante at The Tower and completing the event's introduction, Destiny 2 players will get an exclusive Dawning emblem called Lightstring.

There will also be plenty of new Eververse items in Destiny 2 after the reset, all Dawning-themed, which can also be purchased on specific weeks in the Bright Dust store. Bungie is also providing free Bright Dust to all Guardians logging into the game from now until the release of The Witch Queen expansion, making it a great time to celebrate with new cosmetic items, shaders, and Stasis snowballs.

Destiny 2 players can also get a rare emblem for free now, which only requires making an account on a specific streaming website and watching Destiny 2 content live for a handful of minutes. There are a lot of free items to get right now in Destiny 2, and The Dawning coming so soon means there will be even more.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
