Destiny 2's Dawning event is here. Since it's a yearly occurrence, it's always a good idea to stack up on materials and quests as soon as possible to complete everything while Eva Levante is still around. The Dawning is all about giving gifts and baking special treats for Destiny 2's most renowned NPCs, which can be done by collecting various ingredients from the game's core activities and locations. This quick guide explains how to obtain a very specific ingredient: Null Taste.

Getting Null Taste

Most of the ingredients required to craft and bake treats in Destiny 2 are obtained by defeating the game's enemies in various ways. Explosions will provide a certain ingredient, killing Vex will provide another, and so on so forth. There are two main ways for players to get Null Taste:

  • Void ability and Super kills
  • Void weapon kills

These can be achieved against any enemy in any activity or location, meaning that one of the best candidates to get lots of Null Taste in Destiny 2 during The Dawning 2021 is to play Dares of Eternity. This activity was released with the 30th Anniversary Pack, and it is one of the most populated activities in all of Destiny 2 when it comes to enemy density.

Obtaining Starhorse's Favor is also an essential aspect of the whole thing, considering that it provides players with infinite Special and Heavy ammo for all weapons. As such, players can easily equip their best Void weapons and run around Dares of Eternity, just killing everything they find.

AoE weapons and abilities work best for this process, so classes like Sentinel Titan combined with Doom Fang Pauldron or Warlocks using Handheld Supernova alongside Contraverse Hold are the best picks. Destiny 2's Hunter class is now the worst for PvE, but Void Hunters can still grab a bunch of Null Taste by using top tree Nightstalker and Orpheus Rig.

As for weapons, Void swords like Falling Guillotine and The Other Half are also great, even though the best weapons to go for are Null Composure for the Energy slot and Deathbringer for the Heavy slot. Overall, obtaining Null Taste is not too hard at the moment, and the only thing players have to worry about is actually scoring those kills. If group activities become hard for that purpose, then it would be wise to stick to solo play and maybe delve into densely-populated Lost Sectors, like Perdition on Europa.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
