The first expansion coming in December for Destiny 2, titled Curse of Osiris, was officially announced and dated at Paris Game Week. The expansion centers on the exiled Warlock Osiris and will focus on the Vex as the primary enemy race involved in the story and many of the activities surrounding it. And, as is the way with Destiny, gear will reflect that.

In the official release date announcement trailer, a number of weapons can be seen that carry this Vex visual theme.

destiny 2 curse of osiris vex weapons
destiny 2 curse of osiris pulse rifle titan
destiny 2 curse of osiris hunter hand cannon
destiny 2 first person vex auto rifle

The images show a hand cannon, a pulse rifle, a scout rifle, and an auto rifle that all appear to share the same theme—black and gold, wires, and Vex glyphs. The scout rifle in the Warlock's hands in the first image even appears to have a "Vex milk" container within its body. The hand cannon, while very different from the weapons found in Destiny 1's Vault of Glass, does have a cylinder that is reminiscent of Fatebringer, sharing that gold and red design.

It's unknown how players will be able to earn these weapons—if they will be earned through the story, in the general loot pool, strikes, quests, or perhaps even whatever content ends up being what has only been mysteriously referred to as "new raid content."

In addition to these new weapons and gear being added with Destiny 2's first major piece of DLC, keen-eyed fans have also spotted some old exotic favorites that appear to be returning to Destiny 2 with this expansion, including the exotic scout rifle Jade Rabbit. Along with the new expansion, December will also mark the beginning of Season 2 in Destiny 2, which Bungie has described as a time to make sandbox changes to the game, add new gear including refreshing Bright Engrams and Eververse, and make more significant changes to the game than a regular update (in Season 2 one big change will be to how Iron Banner works).

There's sure to be much more for fans to theorize about in November as Bungie has three reveal streams for Curse of Osiris planned over the course of the month. Curse of Osiris releases December 5, 2017.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
