What was once an exclusive social space for only those who could earn the ultimate victory in Destiny 1's hardest PvP mode will now be open to all in Destiny 2's first expansion, Curse of Osiris. The Lighthouse, which was unlocked as a reward for going Flawless in Trials of Osiris, will be the new social space for the game's first DLC. However, the Lighthouse has changed since players last visited it.

Developer Bungie showed off the new social space on a special reveal stream, where a few developers spoke about the story, characters, and some of the locations in Curse of Osiris. Brother Vance, the character that acted as the vendor to the Trials of Osiris returns in Destiny 2 as the planetary vendor for Mercury (the equivalent to Devrim Kay on Earth or Failsafe on Nessus).

The Lighthouse will serve as the main hub to all activities on Mercury, the new world being added in Curse of Osiris. It is now more populated with NPCs, who Bungie says are disciples of the titular Osiris. In addition to Brother Vance, there is also a forge where Bungie teased the ability to create Osiris- or Vex-themed weapons as a function of a post-campaign, optional side activity.

Another big change fans will notice is that, in the Lighthouse, the social space is experienced in first-person instead of the third-person perspective that is used in the Tower and the Farm. The Lighthouse also contains a teleporter, which leads players straight out onto Mercury's surface where they can experience everything they would expect from a Patrol area including Public Events and Lost Sectors.

On the far side of the space outside the Lighthouse, there is a gate to the Infinite Forest, which serves as a major hub of activity in Curse of Osiris. With Mercury being the spot for new activities, new enemies, and new stories, players are sure to spend a lot of time in the new updated Lighthouse.

Curse of Osiris releases December 5, 2017. Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
