Just ahead of the launch of Curse of Osiris on December 5, the Destiny 2 Instagram page has posted a number of pictures featuring a preview of the gear that will be coming with the game's first major expansion.

The first group of pictures features some new exotics that players will be able to earn, however, the names for these exotics have yet to be revealed, and their unique perks also remain a mystery. None of the gear from Curse of Osiris has hit the Destiny 2 API and databases yet, so there's no way to tell what exactly these exotics will do.

First up is what is the "solar Coldheart," which fires a solar beam instead of arc/ice one. The weapon has a lot of the same elements as its exotic trace rifle cousin but features some unique flourishes as well. The only question is whether this solar Coldheart will feature new perks or re-use the same perks.

Next, is a hand cannon that looks an awful lot like Destiny 1's Red Death pulse rifle, which granted health regeneration upon every kill. After that are a Titan helmet and Warlock chest armor.

In addition to showing off exotics, pictures of the new Legendary weapons themed around Osiris were also on display. These weapons will be earned through the Forge, a machine located in the Lighthouse social space that will set players on new mini-quests to earn these special weapons.

Bungie's last photo group includes some random Legendary gear, including a Titan and Warlock helmet as well as Warlock and Hunter body armor. It's unknown exactly how these sets will be earned, but the path to these pieces could range from opening engrams and RNG-based drops to specific campaign or quest-based rewards.

All this gear will be up for (RNG) grabs come December 5 when Curse of Osiris launches. Curse of Osiris has a very short pre-loading period starting just two hours before the expansion goes live. The expansion will also be accompanied by one of two planned updates in December that developer Bungie hopes will fix a number of complaints leveled at the game by players.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
