With the way storytelling now works in Destiny 2, ever since it shifted to a seasonal approach that splits the narrative into a bunch of smaller weekly chapters, the pace of the game is very spot on. Every new Season brings around eight to ten new weeks' worth of story to Destiny 2, as well as many other core gameplay features that change the way players can approach the meta. Season of the Lost did the same thing, but the events unfolding here are more important than some past Seasons because they are directly tied to the premise of The Witch Queen expansion, as well as to everything that happened with Uldren in Destiny 2's Forsaken and prior to that.

As such, when Uldren was resurrected as Crow, who was the main character in Season of the Hunt and as a supporting character in Season of the Chosen, Destiny 2 players knew he would at some point find out about who he was before. Guardians being resurrected by the Traveler's Light and not remembering their past lives is one of the key elements of the story, despite some exceptions, with the most prominent being Ana Bray, who immediately found out who she was because of a badge she wore on her body. Thus, Crow finding out who he was in his past life was only a matter of time, and Savathun delivered the truth to him during this week's story mission.

How Crow Finds Out About Uldren and What Happens Next

Because Crow has always been portrayed as a very lovable character who is very sympathetic to other living beings, regardless of their race or allegiance in the Light versus Dark saga, players considered him as Uldren's redemption. But Crow was always very curious about everything, and he did have to wonder many times about who he was in his past life and what he did to be so easily recognizable and despised by many. He didn't have to wait too much for this to happen, however, because not even a year after his introduction to Destiny 2 as Crow he found out thanks to Savathun.

This week Crow finally confronted the Sister of Shapes to understand what she told him as Osiris was true, and how much of what they shared was real. As shown with The Witch Queen trailer, the Hive God is going to be all about truth once the new expansion drops, and so she candidly showed Crow visions of him as Uldren to satisfy his thirst for knowledge. Whether she did it to see who much of their past lives Guardians can truly recollect after being shown parts of them or how sincere she was in her concerns about the Lightbearer: it's hard to say.

Still, what's surprising is that Crow seems to have taken the truth much better than some would hope, maybe including Uldren's sister, Mara. Crow needs time to process everything he did as Uldren, from killing Cayde to wishing into existence a whole new race—the Scorn. This is understandable, given how much was revealed to him at once and how heavy it must have been to know, but there are several possible consequences moving forward.

Crow finding out who killed him as Uldren might make him shift his allegiances, for one. Yet, most likely, the outcome can either be that Crow finds peace in knowing he can make his choices and define himself as a person through his actions, rather than those of who he was, or he can fall to the allure of Uldren's dark thoughts and obsession with Mara. The story seems to be that he will be working with Saladin, but the lore book from this week also suggests that he went to Venus to do something even his Ghost, Glint, doesn't know. Ultimately, it's likely the world of Destiny 2 will not be the same when Crow returns, one way or the other.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
