Gamers in the mood for love won’t be left wanting for gaming-related content on Valentine’s Day this year. Several games are embracing the spirit of the holiday with Valentine-themed events in games like Fortnite and Pokemon GO, and of course Destiny 2 is going to be one of them. The series’ annual Crimson Days has been one of longest-running events of its kind, and today Bungie detailed how it will return this year.

Crimson Days 2020 will begin this Tuesday, February 11, and run for a full week until February 18, according to Bungie’s latest weekly blog. The event itself will largely be similar to past iterations, so players shouldn’t expect anything that will radically shake up Destiny 2’s Season of Dawn like Corridors of Time or Empyrean Foundation have.

What they will get is the return of the 2v2 Crimson Doubles mode, where players, like in previous years, will be encouraged to stick close to each other, as doing so will grant them heightened ability regeneration. Moreover, they will become visible to their opponents if they stray too far from their partners. Outside of the Crucible, players can still maintain that intimate Valentine’s Day energy by taking on special two-player bounties in Destiny 2’s PvE activities.

Completing these and competing in Crimson Doubles matches will reward players with the event’s unique currency, Confectionary Hearts, while beating weekly bounties will reward them with Bright Dust. With these, players will be able to exchange them with Shaxx (the vendor for Crimson Days) and Eververse for a number of new themed rewards, including a Ghost shell, an ornament, and even a pair of Sparrows. Bungie also teased that The Vow, the fully-upgraded event-exclusive bow that was introduced with 2019’s Crimson Days, will return this year, but didn’t specify how players will be able to earn it this time.

There should be plenty for veteran players to look forward to, but Bungie will also keep an eye out for other Destiny 2 players as well. In addition to the new items, rewards from previous events will also be available for both new players and those who couldn’t collect enough Confectionary Hearts before. What’s more, once they’ve unlocked everything they want, players will be able to exchange spare Hearts for Warmhearted Gift packages that will contain Glimmer and possibly legendary loot.

It might not be a lot for those eager for substantial new content, but at the very least it will provide a chance to take a break from the constant grind that many feel Destiny 2’s main seasonal content is being held back by these days.

Destiny 2 is available for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
