With each passing day, it seems a new mystery is discovered within The Dreaming City, Destiny 2’s largest end-game space in franchise history. Unlocked following the Forsaken campaign, THe Dreaming City is home to many new activities such as the Blind Well wave defense event, many hidden boss fights, the upcoming raid, mysterious cat statues, and of course, Petra Venj. As she did in the previous game, Petra once again has daily and weekly bounties players can pick up and while many are fairly straightforward, one of the daily bounties is leaving many players scratching their heads.

One of Petra’s daily bounties is called Challenge: The Shattered and tasks players with finding for former Warlock, Toland, a character that is briefly met through voice-over towards the final mission in Destiny 2: Forsaken. Unfortunately, the rest of the challenge card doesn’t offer much information, only providing a clue that the lost Guardian is somewhere within the Ascendant Plane. Thankfully, that’s more than enough information as the only time players can enter that realm is during the weekly Ascendant Challenge.

Get to the Ascendant Plane

Before taking on the challenge, players will need to acquire a Tincture of Queensfoil, which is found through various events, challenges, or from completing Petra’s bounties within The Dreaming City. Next, head to the Gardens of Esila, which is where the week 2 challenge is, consume the Tincture to gain the Ascendant buff, and a portal should appear. Keep in mind that this location changes each week after the normal Tuesday reset.

Find Toland

After entering the Ascendant Plane region Forfeit Shrine, players will be immediately attacked by an Abyssal Champion, which is related to the week 2 Ascendant Challenge. Thankfully, players can opt to finish the challenge first and then search around for Toland, which will no doubt make things a little easier without so many enemies around.

Inside this realm, look for a small spark of light, which in this case, is Toland. Approach the light and hear what he has to say. Once the conversation is over, the bounty should be marked as complete and can be turned in for Dark Fragments, Baryon Bough, and Legendary Gear.

With only a day left before the Last Wish raid opens its doors for the first time, make sure to consult our Destiny 2: Forsaken guides to help gear up faster.
