Destiny 2 fans will want to make sure they have their favorite exotics and emblems on their characters, as Bungie is disabling the current collections in-game the week before Forsaken launches. This will affect emblem and exotic collections, which will be turned back on after Forsaken launches. Bungie is temporarily suspending the service to pave the way for the updated collections system that comes with Forsaken.

While the service is suspended, Destiny 2 players will no longer be able to pull exotics and emblems from their collection in their vault, so players will want to make sure they have any must-have exotics or emblems on-hand before the weekly reset on August 28. Player vaults will still be accessible, but collections will not be. But when collections launch, players will be able to access them on-the-go instead of having to fly back into the Tower.

Collections are one of the many changes coming with Destiny 2’s Forsaken expansion. Alongside collections, Bungie is reintroducing random perk rolls to the Destiny franchise – a feature abandoned in Destiny 2. However, at launch, the new and improved collection will not track copies of randomly rolled weapons. Bungie is working on a solution to this, but it will not be ready by the time Forsaken launches.

The collection will also give players the ability to purchase shaders after they mass-delete all of the shaders in their inventory. Shaders will be buyable based on the source, where Eververse shaders will cost bright dust and loot drop shaders will cost glimmer. Shaders will no longer cost glimmer to apply thanks to the ability to purchase them.

Overall, the collection downtime will not be too impactful to most players. Many players use their vault space to store any and all powerful exotics that they may need. Emblems have little impact on the gameplay experience outside of showing off a Nightfall high score or the number of prestige raids players have cleared. Players will likely enjoy the new collections much more when the launch alongside Forsaken.

Destiny 2: Forsaken launches September 4 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
