The latest game update for Destiny 2 has made a change to the clan bounties in the game, making them more rewarding for players. Prior to this week's 2.0.4 update, the clan bounties rewarded 750 XP, but now they are giving out 1000 XP.

The change to the bounties was not reported in the patch notes for this latest Destiny 2 patch; however, fans over on the Destiny subreddit quickly noticed things were different. That XP increase now means that players only have to complete and turn in five solo clan bounties per week to fill up their progress bar at Hawthorne and collect that Powerful Reward for the week. Previously, it took seven solo bounty completions.

As mentioned, this change didn't make it on the patch notes, which are usually exhaustive with listing the changes in each update, and Bungie has not made any mention of it since. But the increased XP gain from these bounties specifically has been confirmed by multiple players, so it doesn't appear to be a bug but an intentional change.

It's likely that Bungie was looking to make this particular pursuit a little more rewarding—and it's not the only bounties that had a little of the grind taken out of them in Update 2.0.4. Bungie also decreased the requirements needed to complete Iron Banner bounties, which is perfect timing because Iron Banner has returned this week alongside the new Festival of the Lost live event.

There's plenty to do in Destiny 2 this week, so lessening that grind toward Hawthorne's bounties is a welcome change. For those unfamiliar with the bounties, they are available at Hawthorne in the Tower and can be picked up as long as a player is a member of a clan. There are a number of bounties that rotate out daily, including those that can be completed solo and others that can only be done with fellow clanmates for more XP.

Destiny 2: Forsaken is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
