Destiny 2 players were treated to a surprise this week when a mysterious quest went live and eventually led to a new mission. More importantly, that secret mission, much like the Whisper of the Worm quest before it, unlocked a new exotic weapon for players in the form of Outbreak Perfected.

For those that might not be familiar, the Outbreak Perfected quest culminates in a mission called Zero Hour that gives players 20 minutes to complete some intense platforming and puzzle-solving, bookended by battles with Fallen enemies. As one might expect, time is of the essence when it comes to completing Zero Hour but Destiny 2 players, as they usually do, have found a way to cheese the mission to gain extra time.

This Destiny 2 Zero Hour infinite time cheese isn’t very complicated to do, and only requires that one of the three players (not the host) in the fireteam cycle between the map and inventory screen in their menu. While they do this, the Zero Hour mission will not “read” them as having starting the mission and thus the timer won’t start. Then, the remaining two players have infinite time to clear the enemies, make their way through the old Destiny Tower, and then defeat Siviks in the final area.

Destiny 2 players can also use the infinite time cheese/glitch in order to unlock the secret emblem in Zero Hour, which requires finishing the mission with more than 5 minutes left on the timer. But of course, the real reason that some players will use the cheese is to get Outbreak Perfected, Destiny 2’s version of Outbreak Prime.

The exotic pulse rifle is proving to be quite formidable when it comes to damage and is capable of taking down single targets like raid bosses in seconds. It’s all about the bonus damage the weapon receives the longer it fires at a target, and teammates using Outbreak Perfected add to that even further. We can only imagine how strong Outbreak Perfected will be with the catalyst, which increases nanite damage.

Of course, Destiny 2 cheeses take away some of the fun but those who are struggling can use them if they so choose. Most likely Bungie will patch this glitch out sooner or later.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
