One of the main mechanics for earning gear in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is using the Lectern of Enchantment to craft the new weapons and armor on the Moon. Players can purchase additional Essences from the Lectern with the rare Phantasmal Core item, but they will also come across each Essence naturally while playing the story missions and other content on the Moon. The Essence of Failure allows players to craft the Arc Logic auto rifle.

Part of the Essence of Failure requires Destiny 2 players to find an item called Captive Cord, which is located in the Lunar Battlegrounds area of the Moon. The Lunar Battlegrounds area probably sounds unfamiliar to players; however, literally every Shadowkeep player has been there before. Lunar Battlegrounds is the name for the area where the very first mission of Shadowkeep takes place, otherwise known to Destiny 1 players as the former Crucible map First Light.

But many players probably don't know exactly how to get to the Lunar Battlegrounds area even though they have been there before. The quickest way to get there is to transmat to the Sorrow's Harbor landing zone in the north of Shadowkeep's Moon map. From there, hop on a Sparrow and head toward the northeast part of the area. Near the top of the area, players will find a red Hive bridge. Continue over the bridge and through the tunnel that follows it until the area opens up into the Lunar Battlegrounds. Keep going straight to find a path between the mountains to the area where players started off the first story mission.

The Captive Cord for the Essence of Failure quest is located on top of the central building in the area with the tall antenna, where heavy ammo spawned during the first story mission. As soon as players are in this area, they will see a waypoint marking the Captive Cord so it will not be difficult to find. This video from Esoterickk shows the exact route to take:

Arc Logic is an arc-based Adaptive Frame auto rifle that fires at 600 RPM. It can roll with a myriad of perks, but one perk in particular that many players will probably want to be looking for is Rampage, especially after Destiny 2's nerf to many of the damage buffs in the game with the release of Shadowkeep.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
