Destiny 2 received sweeping changes to many mechanics following the launch of Warmind, and it seems one of them is causing some issues with the final boss of the Leviathan raid. Today, Bungie Community Manager Cozmo confirmed that the Calus shield bug is a result of a change in how shields work in Destiny 2. Bungie is looking into the bug, but there is currently no word on when the issue will be fixed.

Players noted that, following the launch of Warmind, they were having some issues bringing down Calus’ shield for both the teleport phase and the final stand. With Warmind, elemental shields now take different amounts of damage depending on if players match the elements or not, and it seems this change is what caused the bug.

Because Calus has a shield but it is not elemental, it may be causing issues with how the game determines damage. For example, if players use a kinetic weapon, they are presumably doing minimal damage to the shield, whereas using an elemental weapon is a bit better.

Unfortunately, the launch of Warmind has been plagued with bugs, including the now-fixed Rat King bug that resulted in Bungie disabling the weapon for a short time. That bug allowed players to use Rat King to give large amounts of power ammo due to how the new exotic perk works.

Warmind also reintroduced the Warsat public event from Destiny, but players have found that a bug is preventing the event from becoming heroic if it progresses too quickly. Fortunately, there is a workaround for this bug until Bungie can fix the issue.

Clan engrams are also not working as intended for many players. After accruing enough experience for a player’s clan, they should receive a powerful engram that decrypts respective to their current power level. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case, but there is a workaround for players looking to get those powerful rewards.

Bungie’s turnaround time on bug fixes is spotty - some are fixed quickly while some take a bit to fix - depending on how impactful or game-breaking the bug really is. Hopefully this Calus bug is toward the top of the list, as the raids are one of the few avenues players can take to reach max power level.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
